Viña Ardanza está elaborado a partir de Tempranillo (80%) y Garnacha (20%). Las uvas de Tempranillo tienen unos 30 años de edad y provienen de las fincas La Cuesta y Montecillo, ubicadas en Fuenmayor y Cenicero (La Rioja Alta). Las uvas de Garnacha, por su parte, provienen de viñedos plantados a 600m de altitud, en Tudelilla (La Rioja Baja).
La vendimia se realiza de forma completamente manual y el transporte a bodega se hace en cajas refrigeradas para conservar intactas las propiedades de la uva.
Ya en bodega el mosto fermenta a temperatura controlada en depósitos de acero inoxidable durante 15 días.
Tras la vinificación las variedades envejecen por separado. Por un lado el Tempranillo pasa una crianza de 36 meses en barricas de roble americano, la Garnacha por su parte pasa 30 meses, también en barricas de roble americano.
Los vinos pasan por trasiegos manuales, hasta 6 veces antes de llegar a la botella.
Añada tras añada crítica especializada con prestigio como Robert Parker y Wine Spectator ha valorado muy positivamente a Viña Ardanza.

- After the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation the two varieties age separately.The Tempranillo ages for 36 months in 4-year-old American oak barrels whilst the Grenache ages for 30 months in second and third wine American oak barrels.The wines are racked by hand up to seven times before being bottled.
