Lan D-12 pays tribute to LAN employees by bringing to light the wine from tank number 12, the one that the team likes the most. It responds to the Rioja tradition that the winemakers keep the best deposit for their own consumption and that of the winegrowers. At LAN, the best productions are historically carried out in tank No. 12, hence the name of this wine, one of the most special.

Lan D-12 is a red wine from the D.O. La Rioja produced by Bodega Lan, which was founded in 1972 by a group of businessmen and is today one of the main assets of the D.O. The Rioja.
LAN represents the initials of the provinces that made up the D.O. La Rioja: Logroño, Álava and Navarra.
Lan D-12 is a Tempranillo monovarietal that is born from four plots located in the town of Haro, in La Rioja Alta. The vineyards, which have an average age of 25 years, grow between 380 and 500 meters high.
After the harvest, the Lan D-12 grains undergo alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature always below 25ºC. In this way, it is intended to preserve the aromatic potential and achieve maximum color extraction.
A micro-oxygenation process and lees removal are then carried out. Subsequently, the Lan D-12 must undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Finally, Lan D-12 ages for a minimum of ten months in new American oak (65%) and French oak (35%) barrels before refining for a further 12 months in the bottle.
