Tasting Notes

Colour: A ruby red colour with rosy edges. Clean and bright.

Bouquet: Medium-high intensity, clean. Notes of ripe black fruit balance with aromas from its ageing - elegant toasted notes and refreshing balsamic notes. Complex and very enjoyable.

Palate: This Rioja wine's magnificent structure is balanced and round from the very beginning. Ripe, polished and very-well integrated tannins. A noticeable acidity adds freshness. Long and persistent finish. An absolute classic. To be enjoyed.

Elaboration

Vineyard (Spanish): The Tempranillo vines grow in the the winery's vineyards in Fuenmayor and Cenicero and are over 30 years old. The Grenache comes from old vines planted in a low-vine plantation system at 600m altitude in the town of Tudelilla. Clay-calcareous soil. Continental-Atlantic climate.

Wine Making (Spanish): After the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation the two varieties age separately. The Tempranillo ages for 36 months in 4-year-old American oak barrels whilst the Grenache ages for 30 months in second and third wine American oak barrels. The wines are racked by hand up to seven times before being bottled.
