Raventós i Blanc wines are always special —revolutionary, some would say—, but at the same time they manage to project a local image capable of seducing an international public.
For the elaboration of this De la Finca, the best Macabeo, Xarel lo and Parellada grapes are used, coming from a historic vineyard known as Vinya dels Fòssils. It was Manuel Raventós, creator of the trilogy of Catalan sparkling wine grapes, who, in 1888, began a mass selection of the best vines of the entire property that, over time, would give rise to these vines. The old goblet vines were planted in 1964 on the highest terraces of the Anoia river on a ground covered with marine fossils visible to the naked eye, precious shapes of shells and snails that transport their salinity to each glass of this magnificent sparkling wine.
The wine gives off aromas of brioche and lemon, of yeast and lime, floating over an austere yet elegant center. On the palate it is noble and mineral, fresh and deep, with a very present Mediterranean character and the typicity of the best vineyards of Penedés in each sip. It is dry, noble, with fine bubbles and overflowing complexity. It exudes aromas of smoke, fennel and undergrowth, and is torn between the freshness of its acidity and the maturity of a temperate climate, concluding in a wine of great balance and harmony. Its touch is creamy and enveloping, its weight is felt in the center of the tongue, but the wine manages to flow smoothly down the sides.
