LAYA is a coupage made with Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell grapes, a special variety from the Almansa area. They have centuries-old vines put into goblets, with little production and at an altitude of 1,000 metres, on limestone soils and with a continental climate with low rainfall. . Once the fermentation is finished, it is aged for 4 months in French oak barrels. Once the wine is decanted we can observe the intense cherry red color, with bright reflections.
Laya is aimed at a more profane consumer, it is a very good companion to food. We find ourselves with a wine with a high color for its layer, because the blue shark gives high layer colors, but florally it is very fruity, very commercial, very sweet and even light when it comes to digesting it in a meal.
Bodegas Atalaya have managed to mature a grape sufficiently well, as it is in the case of Garnacha Tintorera, so that the fruit, once produced, is present in the wine when tasting it.
On the nose, it presents floral and fruity notes, as well as toasted and chocolate notes. It is elegant and complex at the same time.
On the palate, a pleasant wine is presented, with a fresh, balanced and sweet entry. Long and fruity finish.
