It's a blend of Tempranillo (90%) from vineyards over 40 years old situated in the towns of Briñas, Labastida and Villalba, and Graciano (10%) planted in the winery's vineyards in Briones and Rodezno.

Colour: Rojo cereza, brillante, de capa media y ligero borde teja.

Bouquet: Intenso aroma, elegante, complejo, destacando las notas balsámicas, vainilla, coco, chocolate y trufa, que envuelven un fondo de frutas confitadas.

Palate: En boca es equilibrado, con elegante acidez y taninos envolventes, finos y sedosos. Su retrogusto es largo y complejo con recuerdos a torrefactos, especias y fruta confitada. Un vino que el paso del tiempo en botella continúa puliendo y cargando de finura y elegancia.

MARIDAJE

Excelente vino para acompañar los segundos platos de una comida y postres con chocolate.

Vineyard (Spanish): Melchorón I y II de Briones y Rodezno para la Graciano y Briñas, Labastida y Villalba para la Tempranillo. Viñedos de más de 40 años de las zonas de Briñas, Labastida y Villalba para la Tempranillo. Terrenos arcillo-calcáreos. Clima Continental-Atlántico.

Wine Making (Spanish): Las fermentaciones alcohólica y maloláctica se desarrollaron con normalidad.Los vinos pasaron a barricas de roble americano de fabricación propia de 4 años de edad. Durante su crianza, se trasegó cada 6 meses por el método tradicional de barrica a barrica. El vino permanece en botella redondeándose y mejorando aún más sus componentes organolépticos el tiempo necesario.

Colour: Ruby red colour with brick red edges and a medium robe. A very bright wine with fine and elegant tears tears on the glass.

Nose: High intensity nasal aromas. A fresh and crispy wine with refined notes of candied fruits and a touch of liquor which appear on a balsamic and spiced background with notes of leather, coffee and minty chocolate.

Taste: This is a structured, round wine with sweet tannins, elegantly polished during its long ageing in barrels and in the bottle. Broad after-taste which provides a soft and persistent finish.

Rioja Alta 904 Gran Reserva is a marvellous red wine made by Bodega La Rioja Alta in the D.O. La Rioja.

It's a blend of Tempranillo (90%) from vineyards over 40 years old situated in the towns of Briñas, Labastida and Villalba, and Graciano (10%) planted in the winery's vineyards in Briones and Rodezno.

The harvest is carried out by hand and the grapes go through a rigorous selection process.

After the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, Rioja Alta 904 Gran Reserva ages for 4 years in American oak barrels made in the winery's cooperage. Every 6 months the wine is racked barrel by barrel according to the traditional method.

Rioja Alta 904 Gran Reserva is an excellent wine, one of the best examples of long ageing in the Rioja.
