HMS Royal Oak was in the vanguard of ships to engage the French in the famous Battle of the Saints. Captained by Thomas Burnett, the Royal Oak skilfully manoeuvred and aimed her 74 guns at the enemy throughout the battle. With the loss of 8 men and 20 wounded, the Royal Oak played a pivotal role in the early skirmishes of the battle and encouraged the distillery to create a unique, intense and bold rum.
HMS Royal Oak contains the original blend of rums distilled in the Coffey commune and aged in American white oak bourbon casks for 7 to 12 years.

Admiral Rodney is the super premium brand of Saint Lucia Distillers and has earned a reputation as one of the finest rums in the world.
All the rums in the Admiral Rodney range have been distilled in double column stills (Coffey) and have been aged in American white oak Bourbon casks.
This range celebrates Admiral George Rodney's famous naval victory against the French at the Battle of the Saints in 1782, securing British domination of the Caribbean.
The names of the three rums in the range are taken from those ships that distinguished themselves in the battle. HMS Princessa, HMS Royal Oak and Rodney's flagship HMS Formidable, which excelled in the fighting and "broke the line" of the French fleet.
