
The oldest vineyards in the Dominio de Valdepusa vineyard are the origin of Summa Varietalis, a tasty and balanced coupage dominated by Syrah and completed with small contributions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. With a great load of fruit and freshness and with good aging potential.







Domain of Valdepusa has been owned since 1292 by the family of D. Carlos Falcó, Marqués de Griñón, and is located in the municipality of Malpica de Tajo in Toledo. Dominio de Valdepusa is a unique wine farm that occupies an area of 50 hectares, which includes the original vineyard, of Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1974. Starting in 1991, this is progressively expanded with the “Syrah” and “Petit Verdot” varieties. -both pioneers in Spain and “Graciano”. the payment condition was granted in 2002 by the Spanish State, being the first Denomination of Origin of payment. In 2003 this recognition was validated by the European Union, making Dominio Valdepusa the first Spanish estate to receive a recognition only previously obtained for mythical estates such as "Domaine de la Romanée Conti" (Burgundy) or "Sassicaia" (Tuscany).
The inland character, away from the sea, has meant that for centuries the area was far from the marketing channels, obtaining wines with their own characteristic elements. Innovations in grape varieties and production methods. It was the first place in Catalonia where the varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay were introduced, together with the native varieties, and Californian winemaking techniques were adopted. The appellation area is different with inverted geological and climatic characteristics. The connecting link is the middle basin of the Segre River, between the Pyrenees and the Ebro, and the interior and dry climate, far from the maritime influence and marked by high sunshine, scarce rainfall and persistent humidity from the winter mists.

- Vendimia manual. Despalillado y descarga por gravedad en los tanques de fermentación. Maceración prolongada de hasta 4 ó 5 semanas. Envejecimiento con una crianza en barricas de roble francés Allier nuevas y seminuevas durante 12 meses en una nave de crianza climatizada. El vino no es objeto de clarificación ni filtrado. Serie limitada en botellas numerada.

- Finca Casa de Vacas. Viñedos situados en los Montes de Toledo (Malpica del Tajo), junto al río Pusa, afluente del Tajo y del que se obtiene el agua para la irrigación de los viñedos. Viñedos plantados en 1991 (23 años). El suelo es un estrato superficial de arcilla con un espesor de 30 a 50 cm, que descansa sobre un subsuelo de piedra caliza, fragmentada de 2 o más metros de profundidad, que se formó en el período cretácico. Altura media de 490 metros sobre el nivel del mar. El clima es continental. Viñedos situados dentro de la franja con mayor insolación de Europa (3.000 horas/año). Contrastes marcados entre la noche y el día y entre los veranos, secos y calurosos, y los inviernos fríos.
