Zacapa XO is an ultra-premium rum made from a blend of rums aged between 6 and 25 years, with additional aging in French oak barrels previously used to age cognac revealing aromas of cherry and spices. Instead of molasses, Zacapa uses "virgin honey" obtained from the first pressing of sugar cane, and subjects it to an exclusive aging process called Solera, storing it in barrels previously used to age American whiskeys, Sherry and Pedro Ximénez wines, and cognac.
The secret of Zacapa is its slow aging in the cold lands of the Guatemalan highlands, at an altitude of 2,300 meters, which provides a final balance between the aromas and flavors extracted during the process. The perfect gift for a very special person.
